Maison Connectée

Onboarding smart devices through an app can be unfamiliar and unpredictable. Our goal was to make this process painless and even surprise users with how easy onboarding can be. We wanted to delight users by making this as straighforward as possible, even when something goes wrong. Identifying device issues and pain points at each installation step was as important as identifying which steps could be fluidized by a little bit of intelligence. In this way, we have used data to anticipate the filling of information in a relevant way. In order to validate and optimize this flow, we put our user flow into wireframes. We tested the installation process many times. First, we tested explanation, wording, animations, than after real implementation we tested interactions between the app and the network, and than again, we tested the end to end flow with the device packaging. I collaborated closely with engineers to optimize this intallations flows and learned some important lessons through this iterative process.
